...MELTING SNOW WILL RESULT IN RISING RIVER LEVELS...
Afternoon high temperatures are expected to be in the 50s and
lower 60s this weekend and early next week. This will cause
significant melting of the widespread snowpack, resulting in
runoff into area rivers and streams.
Latest river forecasts indicate parts of the Wolf River basin may
surpass flood stage as early as Monday night. Other rivers over
northeast Wisconsin may also approach or exceed flood stage during
the upcoming week, depending on the rate of the snowmelt. Rainfall
amounts at this time appear minimal through much of next week.
Persons living near rivers and streams should monitor the latest
river forecasts and hydrologic statements. Homeowners should
ensure sump pumps are operational.
